History, goals
The first note about Holice dates back to 1336, when was this village first mentioned in debt document of the Czech King Jan Lucemburský. The town of Holice is situated about 20kms far from Hradce Králové and Pardubice. The town of Holice was mainly known by its native - Dr.Emil Holub, who was one of the first Europeans exploring and mapping the Black Continent od Africa.
There is a museum providing huge exposition brought from Dr.Emil Holub's journeys to commemorate this important man. One of the modern faces of Holice and mainly Poběžovická Fold is motocross. Holice Racetrack is one of the most famous tracks in worldwide motocross ever - for more than fifty years so far.
The first race on Poběžovice Racetrack was held in 1951. That year is the beginning of the motocross history not only of Holice, but also of Czech and world motocross. The original organizer - ZO Svazarm was transformed into public organization AMK Holice in the beginning of the 90's.
The track with its capacity, profile, width and length lets shine not only professional riders participating in famous races but also amateurs on their own personal battles.
